      Welcome Pass

The 2.5 mile long Welcome Pass Trail begins with a gentle grade of a former logging road.  After 0.5 miles it becomes a steep, difficult trail through old growth forest up switchbacks and very steep terrain.  In 2 miles you gain 3,000 feet in elevation.

Welcome Pass has fantastic views of Tomyhoi Peak, Mt. Baker, and Nooksack Cirque and wild flowers abound in mid to late summer.

At Welcome Pass, the trail connects with High Divide Trail #630.

The Welcome Pass Trail enters the Mt. Baker Wilderness. In keeping with wilderness regulations, party size is limited to 12. No fires are allowed.

The trail is open to stock use from August 1 to November 1 and open to llamas all year long.

A Northwest Forest Pass is required for each vehicle parked at the trailhead.
