The Swift Creek trail travels 8 miles though ancient old growth forest and meadows to the Lake Ann Trail Junction.  The creeks is fed by glacier melt off.  The upper end of the trail connects with the Lake Ann Trail #600 which leads to Heather Meadows and Austin Pass off the Mt. Baker Highway with an elevation of 4,700 feet above sea level.  The forest service warns that the trail has had minimal maintenance over the past few years and may be difficult to follow and have washouts or fallen trees across the path.

The beginning elevation is 1,400 feet and it rises to 2,500 feet at the Lake Ann Trail Junction.

It should be noted that this is not a trail for beginners.  There are no bridges over Rainbow and Swift creeks and these creeks can be extremely dangerous to ford, especially in the afternoon when the water level increases.  The crossings are at 0.5 miles and 2.0 miles up the trail.

A Northwest Forest Pass is required for each vehicle parked at the trailhead.
