This more difficult 0.7 mi. long trail drops and then rises for a net gain of 100 feet in elevation.

The trail begins by going through a section of forest planted in 1961 and then enters old growth forest.  There are campsites on the north and south end of the lake.  There is a back country toilet facility at the north end of the lake.

A Northwest Forest Pass is required for each vehicle parked at the trailhead.
